Your “resort course” will begin with a short video and approximately 30 minutes of class room instruction. This will be followed by an in-water practice with your instructor where you will cover a few basic skills necessary to dive safely.
You will then be taken on a controlled, shallow dive on Roatan's spectacular reef under the close supervision of your instructor. Just a short boat ride from shore, an amazing world awaits you under the sea. Depending on your rate of breathing, the dive should last approximately 30 minutes. Although one dive does not make you an expert or certified diver, it will count as your first dive towards a scuba diver or open water diver certification. What an incredible school room.
You will then have some free time to ask questions, enjoy the beach or pool area, or purchase lunch at the nearby restaurant.
Please Note: A Roatan Marine Park fee of $5 US (additional cost) per person will be collected upon arrival. Divers must be at least 10 years old. Any diver under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. Divers should be in general good health. Certain medical conditions could prevent you from participating in a dive. You will be required to complete a heath questionnaire prior to your dive. A typical questionnaire may be found on the PADI website.
Anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or any other chemical which is deemed by the instructor to affect their ability to dive, will be denied.
