See the Casablanca Valley, known for its cool climate wines and named the 10th region in the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in 2013, along with Valparaiso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
You will begin your day departing from your Santiago hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned minivan in a small group. Begin the scenic drive through Santiago's outskirts on your way to the Casablanca Valley.
Upon your arrival in the valley, make your first visit to the organic vineyard, the Emiliana Vineyard. Despite its late start in wine production, Casablanca Valley has gained recognition worldwide in particular for the production of white and red wines. Take a guided tour of the winery, where you will learn how the plants and livestock ensure the organic growth of the grapes. Afterwards, take the opportunity to taste 4 different wines produced here, accompanied by a local cheese or chocolate.
Next, continue on to Valparaiso City, one of Chile's most important sea ports. Start at the port, then move on to Sotomayor Square before taking a trolleybus ride to Anibal Porto Square.
Climb into the Queen Victoria elevator to attain a panoramic view of the city. Wander up and down the streets located on steep hills such as Cerro Alegre and Concepcion to see why some say this town reminds them of San Francisco.
After visiting the various passages and churches, you will enjoy free time for lunch on your own.
Make your final stop to the first lighthouse built in Chile before returning to the minivan and driving back to your hotel.
