Your first stop on this unforgettable Best of Barbados tour will be Harrison's Cave, one of the island's incredible highlights. You will board electrically operated trams that take you through the extensive cavern system, while guides fill you in on their history. The caves are a true natural phenomenon. An amazing gallery of stalactites hangs from the roof of the cave, stalagmites reach up from the ground; emerald pools and pillars formed where the stalactites and stalagmites joined over thousands of years. The dramatic lighting will very much enhance your visit.
After a short drive to see breathtaking views on this Barbados excursion, you will make your way to the Welchman Hall Gully for a glimpse of those mischievous Barbados green tail monkeys.
The Welchman Hall Gully offers the unique opportunity to stroll freely while watching the animals at close range and in their own natural environment. The monkeys are wild, so sightings cannot be guaranteed, but monkeys are seen on most tours. A rare sight outside of West Africa, the Barbados green monkey is responsible for 70% of the world's polio vaccine. These charming, funny and fascinating animals will be a highlight of your Barbados shore excursion.
For the second part of your day, you'll spend the afternoon at Copacabana, where you have lunch and enjoy the flavor of Barbados with local cuisine. After lunch, you will take a glass bottom boat trip to swim with the turtles. While wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed, turtles are seen on most trips on this snorkeling tour. The boat is equipped with a bar, bathrooms, and a fun water slide. Please be sure to wear your swimsuits and bring a beach towel for this excursion. After your beach time, you will return to Bridgetown.
Please Note: The boat is boarded by wading out and climbing on board via the boat's ladder. There is no dock. In the event that there are high seas and the boat trip is not available, or a guest is not comfortable with sea conditions, they may opt out of the boat portion before boarding the boat, and receive a refund of $20 US for the boat portion only.
