Plan to get wet as you visit several of the island's unique sites. Your first stop will be a visit to one of the island's must see sites - Champagne Reef. It is one of the most unique snorkeling areas in the Eastern Caribbean. After a short 5 minute walk to the end of the stony beach, you will gear up in the included snorkel gear, and from the shore, walk in and begin a very different under water experience. You will be swimming in bubbles like you were in a giant aquarium or glass of champagne. The stop at Champagne is for approximately one hour.
Next, you will drive to a natural delight and also a location where part of Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 was filmed. You will have the chance to experience the warm (volcano heated) water and swim in the cold water at Titou Gorge. To enjoy the gorge you would have to take the short swim (about 2 minutes) up a cave like area (you do not swim under water). The swim is about 100 feet and the water is about 10 feet deep at its deepest point, but it's only about waist high when you get to the middle of the cave-like area. There is a small waterfall one can swim to, if the water is not flowing too heavily. You will also have the option to climb the waterfall (5 feet) to get to another waterfall. Guests choosing to do this must be very athletic as you have to jump about 6 feet out into the water on your way back down to avoid a ledge in the water. This part is not for everyone and is optional even if you can make the jump. There is an easy 5-7 minutes walk to Titou Gorge. The trail is rocky and gets a little slippery when wet. We provide swim belts to all our guests. Time at Titou is approximately 45 minutes
You will also visit Trafalgar Falls which is actually two waterfalls in the same area. It is approximately 10 minutes walk one way from the parking area and up a few steps. The walk is not too difficult but can be a bit challenging if one has any major problems with their backs, legs, hips or if one is short in breath due to lung or heart condition. After the ten minutes walk, you will reach a platform where you can view the waterfalls and take photos. Climbing to the base of the waterfall should be avoided as much as possible because of the danger involved. Approximate time at Trafalgar is 45 minutes.
A drive will also be taken through the Botanical Gardens where you will see different plants, trees and flowers that are native to / or grow on the island. Let your guide know if you want to take a quick detour / photo stop to Morne Bruce for a picture of Roseau from the top of a hill.
Please note: Crowds are to be expected. The order of your tour may change based on crowds / traffic flow the day of the tour. All tour times are approximate based on these factors.
