Climb aboard a high performance 45-foot power boat capable of reaching speeds of 40 MPH for this extreme trip around Antigua. If you "feel the need for speed" the high speed runs through the amazing islands of the north sound, with its myriad coral reefs, will be your favorite part of the trip. This portion usually lasts approximately 40 minutes doing a high speed Miami Vice style run through the amazing islands of the north sound with its myriad coral reefs, where we slow down for picture taking.
We then head to Stingray City Marine Park where we hand you over to their staff. You get geared up in your snorkeling gear and get into the water where you can have your picture taken actually holding one of these ancient and beautiful fish, this session lasts about 45minutes.
We then head to Green Island where we have the Robinson Crusoe style buffet lunch, with your toes in the water. We are at Green Island for about an hour, while we are on the beach setting up lunch, everyone is encouraged to take a walk through the island over to the other beach for a nice swim before lunch is served.
After the lunch stop is complete, we then head down South to the tour of Nelson's Dockyard from the sea with your own on-board local historian, we don't get off the boat, but we pull right into the dockyard where all the important structures are explained and what they were used for.
We then motor to the awesome Pillars of Hercules with its volcanic boulders below the surface, where a guided snorkel trip of about 40 minutes will take place.
After the snorkel session, we head for the next swim and beach combing at the extremely secluded and beautiful Rendezvous Bay, We stay for about 45 minutes here before heading back up the West coast into St. Johns.
When choosing this tour, please keep in mind that, although the boat has been designed for offshore racing, the 5 mile run from Stingray City to our Lunch Spot on the North of Green Island could be a little "bumpy" for some. This tour is not recommended if you are pregnant. In addition, rum punch is served only at the end of the tour, so this is not a "booz cruise." However, if you are the extreme kind of person who likes some excitement and wants to experience what an offshore powerboat race feels like then the spray of this wild, open water section will keep you smiling. If you are "young at heart" (and not "faint of heart") it could just be the thrill of a lifetime. With five stops along the 50 miles run around the island this tour is action packed. For those seeking a slower paced tour around Antigua, we suggest the Eco Tour and Snorkel.
