White House

The White House is the home and workplace of the President of the United States. Every President since John Adams in 1800 has lived in the White House. Built between 1792 and 1800, the structure is white painted sandstone in a neoclassical style. Today, the White House complex includes the Executive Residence, East Wing, West Wing, the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (which houses offices for the President's staff and the Vice President) and the Blair House (a guest residence). The house is six stories high and 55,000 ft² in size. It has 132 rooms and 35 bathrooms as well as a tennis court, a basketball court, movie theater, swimming pool, jogging track, and putting green. The White House and its grounds cover approximately 18 acres.
